WE REVIEW THE HISTORY OF MEDDEL'S MARBLE DESIGN AT CASA DECOR

CASA DECOR AND DESIGN IN MEDDEL MARBLE

A review of Meddel's collaborations and participation in Casa Decor.

Casa Decor 2023 will be held soon and at Meddel we remember all the editions in which we have had the pleasure of being part of this prestigious interior design platform. Here we review the occasions in which MEDDEL has been part of Casa Decor with design, MARBLE and natural stone.

Of course there have been numerous times that we have collaborated with participating clients who have opted for the design of unique pieces. That is, pieces specifically designed for these ephemeral spaces always located in the most emblematic locations of buildings in the capital. We started with the building on Bailén street that hosted Casa Decor in 2012 in its 20th edition.

First of all, the space "Geometric"Carrillo Proyectos presented a space of calculated geometry, with straight lines and curves with a great evocative power. A deep black bar cabinet created by Meddel in collaboration with Carrillo presided over the room.

Of course this interior design was presided over by a large black bar with all the components that a kitchen bar furniture bar requires. Geometric at Casa Decor with Meddel and the design of this bar consisted of three unified and harmonious spaces. Krion was the material used to create the piece that was the center of attention for its curvatures and innovation.

Also in the space of Carrillo Proyectos, making perfect use of the balcony space, a circular bathtub was installed. It was made in Krion, in this case in pure white. Both pieces were made by Meddel in collaboration with Carrillo's project.

In the next edition, Casa Decor 2013 was installed in an emblematic building characterized by its circular architecture that was dressed in minimalist style, cheerful space and new decorative proposals. In fact, the building on Calle Fernando el Santo, 16 had been the British Embassy and went on to host a new edition of Casa Decor.

During Casa Decor 2013 Meddel participated with Diego Rodriguez, who created a space called "Lenguaje de líneas" . A proposal aesthetically impeccable and as usual Diego flaunted the great taste for textures and volumes.

It was a perfect lighting that took advantage of natural light and the texture of a wallpaper wall covering with sober psychedelic waters were the essence of their proposal. The visual warmth of limestone contrasted with a fine line of raw iron made up the furniture piece that Meddel brought to this collaboration. As a result, this large console presided over a side wall adorned with sculpture, lighting and photography.

Additionally, in 2015 and on the occasion of the 25th edition of Casa Decor Joaquín Moll, product designer was in charge of the "Selección Natural”.

With the collaboration of the interior designer David Pulido, Joaquín brought a proposal of textures and design furniture with marble textures and a triptych painting of Calacatta marble. Therefore the centerpiece a dining table in sandstone and raw iron with vat-shaped glass, suitable for large spaces. On one side the coastal travertine console table merged with the oxide iron in two triangulations of opposing lines. At Casa Decor, Joaquín's marble design had an exclusive representation through these pieces.

Both dining table of Joaquín Moll and the console table by the same artist were pieces nominated for Best Design Casa Decor. In addition, three lamps of different natural stones combined with metal in different finishes and textures completed Joaquín's proposal for Casa Decor and its marble design.
